The No Makeup Series (NMS) is a photo and video series that focuses on the relationships women and girls have with makeup and beauty. This newest, four-part video series consists of a panel discussion with five diverse women talking about their makeup routines, beauty expectations for women in society today, and pretty privilege.
In Part 1 of the series, the topic is on routine and how each uses makeup in their daily lives throughout the day. Subject matter that deals with comfortability with having/ using makeup when headed to work as well as performance art.
In Part 2 of this series, the panel discusses the issues of self enhancments in regards to self esteem from a young age to their cuurent age and how self-care applies in their world of makeup.
In the final part of this series, the panel discusses the idea of pretty privilege and what it means not just from a makeup standpoint but also personal as well.
In Part 3 of this series, the panel discusses how popular and social media standards dictate makeup and natural beauty standards and how they internalize these messages.
